The Buyer is responsible for the tactical procurement of materials, supplies, equipment, and services to be used by FT Synthetics Canada divisions. The Buyer coordinates his or her efforts with manufacturing, Production Control, and shipping to maintain the appropriate flow of inventory at the right time. This individual will utilize knowledge to purchase goods and services at the most favourable price for the company, while simultaneously building and maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers. This position will report to the Manager of Supply Chain.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Creates supplier delivery schedules, tracks, and reports on the status of released PO’s and ensure suppliers are not overloaded.
  • • Receives material and services requirements from Production Control, Operations, Maintenance and Management staff, prioritizes delivery and resolves scheduling conflicts.
  • Expedites purchased product and services deliveries when needed.
  • Gets competitive quotes, negotiates, and uses the proper QA clauses.
  • Works with Supply Chain Manager to ensure a smooth flow of material to feed the shops thereby reducing/eliminating costly wait times.
